Summer is quickly coming to an end and the hot, lazy days of August are upon us. We need to head outside and enjoy the sunshine while it lasts. What better way to do it than diving into one of Vancouver’s amzing outdoor pools.
Hillcrest Aquatic Centre
Hillcrest has indoor and outdoor pools, along with a giant hot tub and indoor leisure pool. The outdoor pool even has sprays and bubble jets.
Kitsilano
A huge saltwater pool (the only one in Vancouver) located along the beach in the Kitsilano neighbourhood. Enjoy the saltwater buoyancy and the view of the ocean without the actual cold, rough waves of the big blue.
Second Beach
What better location for a pool (especially a heated pool) than at the beach in Stanley Park? Bring a barbecue and have a picnic after your swim and watch the sun set.
Maplegrove
This free-form outdoor wading pool is perfect if you’ve got little kids with a maximum depth of 3.5 metres. It’s even got a mini-island for brave adventurers to swim, doggy-paddle or walk out to.
New Brighton Pool
An outdoor, heated pool in East Vancouver’s New Brighton Park, this pool has regular length swimming and a beach entry for the wee-est of slippery fish.
