Dancing and singing are things we’ve done with our tots since they were tiny wee babes — that is, if swaying and humming along to music with a baby in our arms counts. As they got older we continued the tradition and taught them a few moves and of course, some great songs (Beatles and Abba have long been their favourites).
We may not have been broadway stars while we sang and danced, but at least our kids learned to carry a tune and don’t look like uncoordinated zombies while doing their version of Gangam Style or the Harlem Shake.
Of course now they’re ready for the big time — and we know just where to take them in order to turn them into the triple threat (they’re natural actors of course and come by their “ready-for-my-close-up” dramatics honestly) we’ve always known they are.
That’s why we’re enrolling them in classes at Broadway Arts Centre, where they study with highly certified teachers that are seasoned professional artists and instructors. Their program delivers all-around performing arts experience for our child by offering a wide variety of class options, an abundance of additional opportunities, and the highest quality dance, theatre and vocal instruction available.
Broadway Arts Centre’s programs run from September through June in 3 sessions. They offer the following classes; Parent and Tot, Creative Movement, Pre Dance, Ballet, Pointe Tap, Jazz, Hip-Hop, Musical Theatre, Modern, Vocal & Theatre. In addition to their seasonal classes, they also offer Summer and Holiday Camps, Birthday Parties and Adult dance.
Their school philosophy is to provide world-class training in the three performing arts in a positive, creative, healthy, safe, fun and professional environment…which is exactly what we were doing all those many years ago, babe in our arms, swaying and humming along to The Beatles.
