Group exercise was never something we gravitated towards.
Even when we were younger, we were more the swimming, gymnastics, skating type. Solo sports, solo exercise, relying on oneself to motivate oneself and so on. We weren’t the softball team, dance troupe, cheerleader types.
So what’s a mom to do? We take our kids swimming, to gymnastics and we even go skating with them. But it’s not enough. We need to exercise. And now, all these years later, with our post-baby bellies, we are even less likely to want to hit the gym and exercise alongside the flat, 20-something bodies that have never carried around a human life (or a whole pizza and a bottle of wine…admit it, we’ve all done it).
Cue Belly Bootcamp classes, Toronto’s hottest prenatal & postnatal fitness for modern mommies. With their pre- and post-natal fitness, stroller fitness, post-natal pilates, learn to run or personal training classes ($195 for 1/week; $375 for 2/week, in 10 week sessions) and we’re surrounded by women going through the same things we are.
Professional personal trainers offer guidance, attention and support to rehabilitate your core, burn maximum calories and improve strength and energy, all while bonding with your little one. Suitable for any fitness level, all instructors are under the guidance of founder Dara Duff-Bergeron, a veteran personal trainer, women’s fitness expert and mom of two adorable kidlets herself.
All of a sudden we’re gravitating towards group exercise and loving the supportive atmosphere it brings along with it.
