The School of Performing Arts for the Community of East York is a full performing arts studio where students can learn from industry professionals in a warm and supportive atmosphere. If you are looking for an alternative to competition-based dance training, The School of Canadian Contemporary Dance Theatre (CCDT) may be the answer. CCDT is one of Canada’s leading dance training centres, with programs ranging from recreational to pre-professional. Classes include Royal Academy of Dance Ballet and Limon Modern Dance as well as dance lessons in jazz, musical theatre, hip-hop, tap, and contemporary.

The Martha Hicks School of Ballet is one of the largest and most reputable dance schools in Toronto. It offers classes in many dance styles in addition to ballet, including jazz, tap, across, hip hop, contemporary and musical theatre. Children as young as three can learn an appreciation of music as well as simple ballet concepts and steps in the creative movement classes.

Since 1999, the Groove School of Dance has been offering dance classes for kids in a positive environment with an emphasis on creativity, self-expression, self-confidence and fun. Groove is one of the first dance studios to encourage children with special needs. They offer a variety of classes for children of all ages, including ballet, jazz, acro, hip hop and tap, as well as family dance programs for toddlers aged one to three and their caregivers.
