In spite of increasingly complex video games, realistic virtual reality, and a plethora of Netflix titles at our fingertips, bowing has remained a popular activity for family time and birthday parties. There’s certainly something appealing about sending that ball, big or small, hurtling down the lane (or gutter…) towards the pins. Crash, smash, bright lights, music – is there any wonder kids are in love with bowling? Here are some of our favourite places to bowl across the GTA.
Playtime Bowl and Entertainment
NORTH YORK
The aptly named Playtime Bowl is, indeed, perfect for playtime. The availability of light balls, ramps and bumpers makes Playtime great for tiny bowlers. And if you want some privacy, the VIP room has eight lanes just for you!
RINX
NORTH YORK
RINX isn’t just a bowling alley, with laser tag, mini-golf, rollerskating and so much more offered as well. But bowling is still one of the most popular activities, with options for cosmic and mini cosmic bowling – think glow in the dark with lots of other great effects.
Parkway Bowl
SCARBOROUGH
Parkway Bowl ensures a fun time for all members of the family, even the really small fry, by offering bumper bowling, 5-pin, 10-pin AND glow-in-dark bowling – truly something for everyone in the north-east end.
Kennedy Bowl
SCARBOROUGH
Wow – there are 32 lanes at Kennedy Bowl! There are also ramps, lightweight balls, and bumpers, to help those of varying skill levels (that would include us). So much fun for a trip out – why not invite the extended family?
Danforth Bowl
THE DANFORTH
We love the sound “ball launchers” for younger children – sounds like something our bowling game could use as well. There is shoe rental for kids and adults, glow-in-the-dark bowling, great music, and you can rent a single lane, multiple lanes, or the whole place! Reservations are required at Danforth Bowl, even for a single lane.
