Father’s Day is quickly approaching and if your plans are still up in the air, fear not. We’ve rounded up 12 kid-friendly events happening in and around the city that are perfect for celebrating the dad in your life!

The Battle of Black Creek

For the history-buff dad, let him take part in an immersive 18th-century combat experience, complete with a live musket demo. Code cracking, a fashion show, and a rubber band shooting gallery are also on the schedule.

Father’s Day Heritage Train Ride

Show dad how much you care with a real life trip down memory lane. The York-Durham Heritage Railway will take you on a journey through the picturesque Oak Ridges Moraine. A hot meal is available for the lunchtime trip. And dads get a discount!

Wine and Spirit Festival

Say hello to summer while basking in the sunshine and lakeside breezes at one of Toronto’s favourite beaches. Dad can sample wine and craft beer while learning expert pairing tips, and kids can enjoy live music on the beach. A portion of ticket sales go to help support the Music Therapy Trust Fund.

Father’s Day Beer/Cider Picnic

Craft-beer-loving dads are sure to enjoy this craft beer and cider picnic in Stratford, Ontario, where more than 12 Ontario craft breweries and more than 12 cideries are taking part. Admission includes entrance to the Stratford Museum as well as access to an antique steam engine, live music, and craft root beer on tap. Be sure to purchase tickets in advance.

Medieval Times Dinner and Tournament

Treat dad like royalty this Father’s Day with a dinner and show at Medieval Times. Father’s Day Brunch Cruise

Beaches Rib Fest

The best rib teams in Canada will be serving up delicious racks at this annual Father’s Day festival. Kids can enjoy live music, life-sized board games, as well as a Kids Zone complete with rides, while dad can explore the craft beer market or wine and spirits area.

Yorkville Exotic Car Show

Gearhead dads will get a real kick out of walking the red carpet to view more than 120 classic cars, including Lamborghini, Porsche, SuperCars, Ferrari, and more. Proceeds from the show go to support Prostate Cancer Canada.

Varac Vintage Grand Prix

Spend the weekend with dad camping out at the racetrack while watching beautifully restored cars from the past 50-plus years of motorsports, racing on one of Canada’s world-famous Grand Prix circuits.

Mississauga Waterfront Festival

There’s lots to take in for the whole family all weekend long at this waterside festival, including outdoor concerts, carnival rides, mouthwatering food and more.

Apple Factory Strawberry Festival

Celebrate Father’s Day weekend and enjoy the first tastes of summer strawberries at this festival supporting the Peel Region Children’s Aid Society. The event includes live music, face painting, a bounce castle, plus plenty of games, crafts, and delicious eats.

Take Dad Out To the Ballgame

Cheer on Canada’s team as they take on the Chicago White Sox this Father’s Day weekend. The first 20,000 fans on June 18 will receive a free Fire Up the Grilli BBQ Apron thanks to Schneiders.
