Solar Observing at Ontario Science Centre
Description: Come learn about our nearest star; safely observe the sun with a specially filtered telescope and see if you can spot unique surface features like sunspots, prominences, and spicules.

The Big Freeze at RBG
Description: Wondering if the Ice Age is over and if it will ever return? Curious about when it first started? And what happened to all those ice age mammals? The Ugly Duckthing at Solar Stage
Description: We all have a home somewhere, but it’s not always easy to find. When the Duckthing hatches in an empty nest, it’ll have to figure it where it came from and where it belongs. Luckily, the world is full of catchy tunes and kind creatures. Come see this re-imagined story based on Hans Christian Anderson’s original.

Natrel Rink at the Harbourfront Centre
Description: Visit Toronto’s most scenic rink, looking out on Lake Ontario’s beautiful shoreline. There’s heated indoor change rooms, lockers, and washrooms. PA Day Painting Camp at Winged Canvas
Description: Kids ages 8 and up are invited to the Art Hub for a fun, creative day filled with painting. Each paint day has a different theme to inspire everyone, and the kids get to take home their colourful creations. The theme for February is Superheroes. Kuumba at the Harbourfront Centre
Description: Returning this year is Toronto’s longest-running celebration of Black History Month and this time a second weekend has been added. Sit in on thought-provoking panel discussions and socially-driven cultural programming, exploring themes that are currently effecting our global community including Black Lives Matter, Women’s Empowerment and the Invisible Majority. Kid-centered activities include crafts, a djembe drumming workshop, storytelling, and a children’s short-film series.

Family Sleepover at Ripley’s Aquarium
Description: Attend this underwater sleepover party that you won’t soon forget! You’ll get to explore the Aquarium, participate in educational experiences, and learn all about the water-dwelling animals that call the aquarium home. LunarFest
Description: Celebrate the Chinese New Year and the Year of the Rooster with the LunarFest Winter Games, NaRae Korean Dance—a children’s ensemble performing traditional folk dance and song, special rooster-themed paper crafts sessions for kids, and Spring Melody by the Toronto Taiwanese Chamber Orchestra.

Toronto Light Festival
Description: New this year, the Toronto Light Festival showcases 17 light-art installations for 45 days this winter. Following in the footsteps of the popular Amsterdam Light Festival, the display is an outdoor gallery of illumination against the brick and cobblestone backdrop of the Distillery Historic District.
