As the weather grows colder and the days grow darker, the Toronto cultural calendar brightens, with some of the best children’s plays, musicals, concerts, dance performances and more in all of North America taking the stages across the city.

Access to world-class performing arts venues and companies is without a doubt one of the best things about raising kids in Toronto. Don’t miss out on these fabulous shows and events this season!

Be sure to check our online events listings, updated daily, to find out what’s coming up.

Theatre and Musicals

At Solar Stage Children’s Theatre you’ll find plays, musicals, music concerts, puppet shows, and more for kids ages 3 through 10. Museums and Exhibits

Family Sundays at the Art Gallery of Ontario take place every Sunday from November through April. Each month brings a different theme, with interactive, innovative family activities. Always on at the AGO is the Kids’ Gallery, a special space with exhibitions for little eyes and hands.

A visit to the Royal Ontario Musum to see the dinosaur bones and to brave the Bat Cave is always fun. But the ROM also has hands-on galleries just for kids.

There’s always something on for kids at the Ontario Science Centre, like IMAX films and planetarium shows, but coming up for winter 2015/16 is the “Red Bull Stratos Exhibit” where you can see a space capsule and spacesuit up close.

The new Children’s Discovery Centre is a play-based learning centre and museum for kids ages 6 and under. Encourage imaginative play and art through hands-on exhibits. The pilot project is open through December 2015.
