Summer doesn’t put an end to learning; nor does it put an end to fun (for us or for our wee ones!). In fact,it’s only the beginning — especially when there are amazing camps out there for them to indulge in, enjoy and learn something new at every day.
Camps at the Ontario Science Centre will spark and promote our kid’s interest in science, without feeling (or even realizing!) that they’re learning. This summer, we’re sending our kids on a trip to outer space rather than camp. They’ll learn the secrets of the astronauts as they travel through our solar system.
3…2…1…Get ready to lift-off for a gravity-defying, out-of-this-world voyage!
On their amazing expedition, they’ll get a chance to do the space walk, jump for the moon, design and build a spacesuit, compete in the Mission to Mars Show, learn about radiation storms and black holes and of course, search for alien life.
Science camps are great for our kidlets, because they put a halt the “brain drain” that can occur over the summer. The counsellors aren’t there just to have fun, they’re actually there to teach our kids (although they will be having so much fun, they likely won’t feel like they’re learning). When we go to pick up our kids they’ll even have a project to complete at home (keeping them busy while we make dinner, take care of the other kidlets or just indulge in some time to ourselves).
We think camping out at the Science Centre this summer is a great choice. It’s indoors (a week indoors is a good balance for the rest of the summer outside), well-organized and packed full of great experiences. It’s a great place for kids to expand their knowlege and their friend-base…maybe outside their comfort zone for a change.
We’re totally crazy for Space Craze this year (and of course the other camp the Science Centre is offering: Spy Camp) and our kids can’t wait to head to the Science Centre to do just a bit more learning this summer.
