Toronto JK Kids Can Get Free Eye Exams and Glasses this Summer

A new program launching July 1 in Toronto will provide free eye exams with local optometrists for all kids in junior kindergarten, as well as free glasses for the kids who need them.

Eye See…Eye Learn is a not-for-profit program funded in part by the Government of Ontario that aims to raise awareness of the importance of having children’s eyes checked before they start school.

It’s estimated that 1 in 6 children has a vision problem, and many kids who have trouble seeing are misdiagnosed as having learning disabilities. Read more about how your child’s vision can affect their educational peformance.
