YMCA Academy

The YMCA Academy is Ministry of Education–inspected alternative high school in downtown Toronto for youth with learning disabilities and learning-style differences. Created to respond to unique learning needs, the school integrates the Ontario Secondary School Curriculum with the development of practical life skills.
With individualized special education support for Learning Disabilities (LD) and Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) diagnoses, giftedness, and other unique learning-style differences, the Academy offers assistive technologies, experiential learning, and academic programming that includes individual Education Plans, integrated Mindfulness practices, small class sizes, laptops for every student, workplace internships and co-op program year-round fitness memberships.
