This year at March break camp in Midtown, North Toronto or North York, kids can take a trip around the world, develop handwriting and typing skills, or learn to make tiramisu! No matter what your child is into—coding, Lego, theatre, art, cooking, active play—there’s a camp for that.

Registration is open now for the following March break camps. Many offer half-day options as well as before- and after-care.

Active Kids Zone

YORK UNIVERSITY

Kids have tons of options for fun during March break at this 10,000-square-foot kids’ athletic/creative centre. Camp activities include crafts, cooking, sports and games, and playtime in the Fun Zone—with bouncy inflatables and climbing structures.

FOREST HILL

Younger kids can sign up for Art & Architecture from Around the World (ages 3–5, SK-Grade 1, and Grades 1–3). Older kids can choose one or two half-day programs in Jewellery Design, Drawing & Painting, Acting for Film & TV, Architecture & Design, Painting & Design, or Comic Book Studies.

Bravo Academy for the Performing Arts

YORKDALE/LAWRENCE HEIGHTS

Five Shakespeare plays are mixed up into one humourous musical for the weeklong musical theatre March break camp, Shake It Up With Shakespeare. Campers take part in acting, singing, dancing, and creating sets and props, culminating in an end-of-week performance in the school’s theatre.

Camp Tournesol

WILLOWDALE

French immersion and francophone students (Grades 1–3) and French learners (JK–Grade 1) are welcome at this multi-activity camp conducted in French. Art, STEM, imaginative play, and an excursion to the Kortright Centre for a maple syrup program are all part of this fun week en français!

Canadian Contemporary School of Art

LEASIDE

Spend a week at art school! This year’s March break camp theme is Once Upon a Time in Japan. Explore Japanese art techniques including painting, architecture, sculpting, textile arts, and animation. Half-day camp is available.

The Chef Upstairs

Does your child love to cook? Do you have visions of them making you huevos rancheros or baklava? Each day at March Break Cooking Camp, kids make a different breakfast, lunch, and dessert. They learn cooking techniques and food preparation skills, plus play outside (weather permitting). The week ends with an Iron Chef Day.

Elite Camps

March Break Basketball Camps take place in a 12,000-square-foot training centre dedicated entirely to basketball training, year-round. Instructors are college/university- and pro-level players. Kids learn basketball skills and play games suited to their age and skill level. Open to beginner through advanced players.

Explorer Hop

At Around the World in 5 Days (week #1) kids embark on an imaginary trip through North and South America, exploring the art, music, history, and sports of select countries. At Board Game Ninjas! camp (week #2), kids invent and design their own board game in a fun STEAM week combining math, logic, and art.

Explore the winter forest and Don Valley ravines at a nature-based camp at Evergreen Brick Works. Kids will spend lots of time outdoors playing and learning: tracking animals through the snow, discovering winter survival strategies of local animals, and looking for edible plants.

Musical theatre, improvisation, mime, theatre games, stagecraft (sets and costumes), and an end-of-week performance are all part of this fun week of theatre camp. Work on movement, performance skills, voice, character development, and confidence.

Kids get hands-on experience with coding and tackling “mini-missions” to solve real-world problems on a local or international level. Every day brings a special, hands-on activity at Kidnasium. Last year’s March break camp included live-animal activities with Pawsitively Pets, science experiments with Mad Science, a dinosaur dig with Reptilia, and more. A gymnastics camp will be offered this year. Half-day and single-day options are available. Registration is not yet open at this writing.

TAC’s March Sport & Tech Camps allow kids to choose from arts, STEM, and sports activities including basketball, soccer, dance, gymnastics, mixed martial arts (MMA), art/design, Lego ArchiTECH, and Lego Robotics. Stay active during the break with a Multi-Sport March Break Camp at Branksome Hall. Kids will play games and develop fundamental sports skills while trying out a variety of sports including soccer, basketball, flag football, baseball, and hockey.
