About Allan Gardens Conservatory

This free indoor botanical garden in downtown Toronto houses a permanent collection of exotic plants as well as seasonal flower shows, including the Summer Show’s annuals, the Fall Chrysanthemum Exhibition, and Christmas Flower Show.

Allan Gardens has six greenhouses, including two Tropical Houses with tropical flowers, trees, and plans; a Cool Temperate House; a Palm House with palm plants and vines; a Tropical Landscape House with exotic plants; and an Arid House with cacti and succulents.

The Children’s Conservatory, opened in 2004, is open to schools and groups by reservation for hands-on horticulture education programs.

The conservatory is a historic landmark, located in one of the city’s oldest parks, both founded in 1858. The 16,000-square-foot greenhouse is open year-round for drop-in visits, and admission is always free!

Look for special family events like pumpkin carving in fall and drop-in family gardening sessions in spring.
