An extra day off from school is an awesome idea for kids, but parents are often left stumped, wondering what to do with their kids. For parents that work outside the home, the challenge can be figuring out where to send their child for the day.

Luckily Hamilton has many options that cater to students interest and age, and offer a variety of different price points. See below for our curated list of PA Day camps that are available throughout the school year.

Below are some awesome PD day camp options that focus on nature, art, hockey, soccer, crafting, and more in (and near) Hamilton for the 2018–19 school year. All prices are per full day of camp unless otherwise indicated.

Art Gallery of Hamilton

AGH Day Camp allows for children to observe and discuss exhibits with others, as well as use their own creativity and imagination to create works of art. Different technical skills are taught, and art mediums including sculpture, painting, and prints are used.

Age: SK–age 12
Cost: $40 for members and $45 for non-members

Boys and Girls Club Canada

This camp is offered to any children who are members of the Boys and Girls Club of Canada, and offers an inexpensive program full of fun activities, games, and crafts. Membership to the club is open to anyone, and costs $5 per child annually.

Age: 6–13

Camp Kidaca

Offered through the City of Hamilton, Camp Kidaca offers a variety of age appropriate programs at various recreational centres throughout the city. Kids may participate in swimming, sports, crafts, and special events.

Age: 4 –15 years
Cost: $25–$41, depending on program and age

The Creative Hub

Perfect for the artsy kid, this camp offers half a day of pottery and half a day of visual arts programming. Students will be taught various artistic processes and will be encouraged to express themselves through art.

Age: 5 and up
Cost: $65 + HST

SoccerWorld

An active full-day camp that offers multi-sport programming, including soccer, dodgeball, and hockey. Coaches are high energy and engaging, and each program is geared towards specific ages.

Age: 4–11 years
Cost: $50

Centre Ice Training Academy

A hockey camp designed for kids that love the ice. Instruction includes skating, stick handling, passing, and 3-on-3 scrimmage. There is also off-ice play and fun, and a pizza lunch included for full-day campers.

Cost: $50 for a half day, or $75 for a full day + HST

Camp Marydale

A fun camp experience for kids at the beautiful outdoor facility at Marydale Park. Kids will have both indoor and outdoor play, activities, and crafts.
