Summit Micro School

A small private school that offers an alternative to mainstream schools. They offer personalized learning and small groups, as well as an afterschool “Maker Space” STEM program.

Their primary grades (up to grade 1) are Reggio-Emilia inspired and establishes a love of learning. Their small class sizes focus on experiential learning. Older students focus on project-based learning as their core curriculum approach. With this approach, units of study begin with a problem, challenge or project that students work toward. Core skills (reading, writing and math) are taught through individualized programs.

They also offer afterschool “Maker Space” programming that allow children to explore their creativity. Projects include computer programming, game design, 3D Design, Web Design and Soldering/Construction/Deconstruction.
