Carnivore Enrichment Feedings at the Toronto Zoo

Event Details

This event finished on 29 December 2019

Every Saturday and Sunday, you can now watch Toronto Zoo staff as they feed their carnivores, where you will witness them showing off their hunting and feeding behaviours such as smelling, licking, clawing, chewing and consumption of all edible parts, chewing on bones and tearing through skin. They offer their carnivores these large and complex food items that take significantly longer for them to consume. As well, carnivores that engage in social feeding gain an extra benefit from this type of enrichment experience.

Toronto Zoo hope that this will provide an educational and immersive experience for visitors, though viewing may not be suitable for everyone.
