About Ruth Rumack's Learning Space – Midtown
Ruth Rumack’s Learning Space (RRLS) is a cutting-edge direct instruction and academic support centre in Toronto for K–12 students, including those with learning differences. It offers tutoring, summer camps, after-school classes, and workshops in many subjects, including reading, handwriting, math, science, keyboarding, writing, kindergarten readiness, and test preparation.
For more than 20 years, the RRLS approach to teaching through sensory and motor activities, combined with tailoring to specific learning styles, has yielded excellent measurable results.
About the Services
1-to-1 Support: Individualized teaching based on direct instruction programs, Orton-Gillingham principles, and multisensory methods. All classes are tailored to individual learning styles and interests to ensure student engagement.
Group classes: Researched and developed to teach specialized skills in keyboarding, handwriting, written expression, essay writing, early reading, and art. Small class sizes allow students to receive the best of both worlds: cooperative learning through group activities and individualized instruction and attention.
Standardized test preparation: SSAT, SAT, and ACT along with admission interview practice. Its winning strategy lies in a combination of direct instruction pedagogy, test-specific strategies, and carefully vetted certified educators.
