Cinesphere at Ontario Place

Cinesphere is the world’s first permanent IMAX movie theatre, opened in 1971. Known for its geodesic dome–type structure, it remains the world’s largest IMAX theatre and shows current-run movies as well as special film series and film events.

Cinesphere is located on the grounds of Ontario Place. It reopened following an extensive six-year renovation of the theatre and of the Ontario Place grounds in 2018.
