About African Lion Safari
Over 1,000 exotic birds and animals – including lions, zebras, giraffes and rhinos – roam freely in this 750-acre wildlife park. Hop on the Safari Bus or drive your own vehicle through seven game reserves – Nairobi Sanctuary, Simba Lion Country, Timbavati Lion Country, Wankie Bushland Trail, Rocky Ridge Veldt, Australasia and the Americas.
Learn more about specific animals by checking out a birds of prey or an Asian elephants presentation. The Discovery Centre is a hands-on adventure, where you can you experience all kinds of wild textures, sizes and shapes, including furs, eggs, antlers and skulls.
For a different primate experience, set sail on the “African Queen” boat around Water Safari Lake. See and learn about a variety of primates, including ring-tailed lemurs, gibbons and spider monkeys, as well as exotic birds, such as the African Pink-backed pelican.
You can also ride the rails on the “Nature Boy” scenic railway. This miniature replica of an 1863 C.P. Huntington Steam engine tours 1 16-hectare reserve, where you’ll see exotic species from around the world as well as many animals and birds that are native to the southern Ontario.
The Pets Corner is the tamer part of the wildlife park. You’ll find gentler animals, such as an alpaca, goats, and deer.
Cool off at Misumu Bay, a large wet play area with sprinklers, rain trees and tumble buckets, geysers and more, or let you kids monkey around in the Safari Venture and Toddlers’ playgrounds.
