About Toronto Symphony Orchestra

Canada’s premier symphonic ensemble, the Toronto Symphony Orchestra (TSO) was founded in 1922 and is recognized internationally as one of the world’s great orchestras. Roy Thomson Hall has been the TSO’s home since 1982.

For young people, the TSO has a number of special programs and performance series, including the Young People’s Concerts series; a tuition-free Toronto Youth Orchestra (TSYO), providing orchestral training for young musicians (by audition); and a School Concerts program, with performances for more than 40,000 students annually. The TSO also has open rehearsals for small groups of high-school students and provides educational teacher resources.

The TSoundcheck program provides low-cost tickets (from $19) for ages 15–35.
