About Kortright Centre For Conservation

A natural oasis just north of Toronto, this 555-hectare conservation area and centre for sustainable technology has educational programs and displays including renewable energy workshops, an Innovation Trail with a working wind turbine, sustainable houses to visit, and displays of solar shingles and other eco-technologies.

Programs for children include summer nature camps, weekly Little Saplings parent-and-tot nature programs for ages 1–5, and the Nature School alternative education program. The Kortright Centre also hosts frequent events, including holiday-themed nature celebrations, fall colours walks, astronomy nights, forest walks, birding walks, and more.

Kortright Summer Nature Day Camps

Summer camps at the Kortright Centre for Conservation are for children 4–14 years of age who like nature and spending time outdoors. Each week of camp has a new theme, so you can come for just a week or stay for the whole summer. Themes have included Art in Nature, Spy Camp, and Survival Camp. The Kinder Camp program, for youngsters 4 and 5, has been designed with lower staff-to-camper ratios, rest breaks and age-appropriate activities to give the youngest campers the best experience possible.

PA Day Camps

Exploratory-learning outdoor nature PA day camps are offered year-round from the Nature School at Kortright for children ages 4–10. Students interact with the natural environment and take part in activities such as shelter building, cooking over an open fire, and making woodland crafts.
