About Canadian Museum of Nature

Discover Canada’s national natural history in beautiful Ottawa. The Canadian Museum of Nature offers world-class galleries that feature dinosaurs, mammals, birds, minerals, and aquatic wonders—including a real blue whale. There’s always a series of special exhibits designed to educate and fascinate the entire family.

The four main collections, which were started by the Geological Survey of Canada in 1856 and now include close to 15 million specimens, are Botany, Mineralogy, Palaeontology, and Zoology.

Children will love the museum’s great hands-on activities and action-packed 3D movies. Drop by for a family visit, or give your children the experience of an educational summer camp or birthday party. Special event rentals are also available.
