Children and Youth Dance Theatre

The Children and Youth Dance Company (CYDT) is a dance academy offering pre-professional, competitive and recreational dance classes in ballet, jazz, hip hop, Caribbean and West African dance, acro, tap and contemporary. Classes are offered to children between the ages of 2 and 18. It is based in the Black Creek, York University heights wards of Toronto, North York Region, where access to arts education and quality programming has been a challenge.

CYDT also has a performing core, the Dance Company, for students aged 8 to 16. Entrance and participation is by auditions, invitation or recommendation by a class instructor.

They also offer summer and PA Day camps. Summer camp is for students 6 to 12, while PA Day camps are for 8 and up. The program includes arts and crafts, musical theatre, jazz and Western African dance.
