The 16th annual Doors Open Toronto presented by Great Gulf returns offering free and rare access to more than 150 architecturally, historically, culturally and socially significant buildings across the city.
This year’s theme, Sports, Recreation and Leisure, will offer attendees a sneak peek inside private and public recreational facilities used by its residents for sporting, recreation and leisure time ranging from indoor rock climbing facilities to dance studios and locations that are soon to become cultural or sporting tourism attractions.
Along with these buildings, some of the new sites constructed specifically for the TORONTO 2015 Pan American / Parapan American Games will also open their doors.
Visitors are encouraged to take part in free Walking Tours sponsored by the University of Toronto during the Doors Open Toronto weekend. Tours will delve deep into the stories, histories and architecture of a wide variety of neighbourhoods.
