It’s the Year of the Dog and the Chinese new year is being celebrated with the annual LunarFest, at a new location: Mississauga’s Living Arts Centre.
Free family activities this year include arts and crafts for kids—making your own puppy lantern and a model of Olaf from Frozen; the Moon Crawl ball pit challenge; traditional Chinese games; community stage performances; hands-on curling demos; films; and a family talent show. Outdoors, you can toast marshmallows and take part in a fire-building demo with a local Scout troupe.
Crafty kids and parents can register for a free lantern-making workshop on Sunday, February 18, to create sky lanterns on display at the festival.
