Macbeth, Conspiracy Theory

The Rock Garden at the RBG plays host to Burlington’s Tottering Biped Theatre as they present their modern-day inspired adaptation of Shakespeare’s Macbeth. In their version, Shakespeare’s classic story of fate and vengeance is re-imagined as a conspiracy theory thriller. Macbeth’s pact with unseen forces to become a tyrant King unfolds with consequences beyond his darkest imaginings. Director Trevor Copp describes it as, “Shakespeare with the boring parts cut out.” The company doesn’t change the words, but by emphasizing action and putting the play in the world of Conspiracy Theories, these old stories become new again.

Each performance is approximately 90 minutes, plus a 20 minute intermission. The Rock Garden will close to the general public at 6 p.m. on performance nights.
