2018 Chinatown Chinese New Year Celebration

Do you enjoy traditional cultural events? Haven’t seen the Lion Dance in person? Join the community in Toronto’s Chinatown to celebrate the upcoming wonderful new year!

In 2018, we celebrate the Year of the Dog. Representing royalty and wealth, dogs have long been popular in the Asian Community. Chinese have a traditional belief that dogs can predict when good or bad things are going to happen.

The Lion Dance will take place Saturday at Dragon City Mall (280 Spadina Ave.) at noon and at Chinatown Centre (222 Spadina Ave.) at 2 pm. Other performances include magic shows, fashion shows, and traditional dance performances.
