Mother Earth: Accessible Studio Workshop

Event Details

A special accessible art-making workshop for children and youth living with special needs, with their families. The session focuses on an indigenous understanding of the spiritual world. There will be three activities:

Mother Earth and Her Family Collage (11:30–12:30): Participants will gather natural materials, learn about the Obijway idea of Mother Earth, and use natural elements and simple art supplies to create a mixed-media hanging artwork.

Flowers for My Mom (12:30–1:15 pm): Make a hand-painting bouquet using watercolours on paper and arrange in a jar with stones and beads.

My Mom: Relief Printmaking Mother’s Day Cards (1:15–1:45 pm): Create a foam board relief print using templates, inspired by all living things.

Mothers, grandmothers, aunts, and sisters are all invited to take part in this multigenerational, collaborative workshop.

Free workshop, but registration is required and fee for parking applies.
