Bat Awareness Days

Event Details

This event finished on 12 August 2018

The Toronto Zoo’s Bat Awareness Days aim to raise awareness of the work being done to help save Ontario’s threatened bat species and teach the public about these fascinating animals. Visitors will learn about the important role of bats in the ecosystem, and scary myths will be dispelled.

The team from the Zoo’s Native Bat Conservation Program will be on hand in the Front Courtyard to share information about the eight species native to Ontario and the equipment they use to study them. Each day visitors can drop by and meet the team to test their hearing by listening to recordings of bats’ ultrasonic calls and try out a bat detector. You can also make your own bat mask, or do bat crafts and colouring.

Free with Zoo admission.
