Science Rendezvous at the Toronto Zoo

Event Details

Science Rendezvous, an annual festival designed to bring science out of the lab and into the public, comes to the Toronto Zoo on May 12. Scientists from the University of Toronto Scarborough and Let’s Talk Science students and volunteers will engage with visitors of all ages, bringing science alive through demonstrations, hands-on activities, and fun talks. The whole family is invited to explore their inner scientist – there’s something for everyone! Pick up your passport at the Welcome Station, and dive in to the following activities:

Amazing Apes: Learn about our closest living relatives and ways animals use tools.
Bees & Bugs: Close encounters of the insect kind – bees, butterflies, and spiders included.
Polar Bear Express: Discover how polar bears can stay warm in arctic temperatures, as well as the factors threatening this species and what you can do to help.
Meet with U of T Scarborough faculty who will show you how they research the world of spiders, fish and forests.
Scavenger Hunt: Join in a zoo-wide scavenger hunt where you’ll solve clues hidden throughout the different stations and learn all about birds, bugs, bears, and beautiful biodiversity.

All activities free with general Toronto Zoo admission.
