Listening to Art, Seeing Music

Event Details

Listening to Art, Seeing Music is a truly unique, multi-sensory experience that will take visitors on a journey of discovery to explore the essential interconnectedness of the performing arts, the spoken word and the visual arts. Highlights include an interactive multi-media installation which allows visitors to translate the rhythms and patterns of music into visual art compositions, a pop-up “musical petting zoo” with a collection of Arab ouds on display, and a Mongolian yurt providing a warm communal gathering space for experiencing pop-up performances, hearing stories of music-making and sharing a cup of tea.

Pick up a kids’ Family Exploration Kit when you arrive: go on a creature hunt, complete a pattern, or write your own adventure story. Plan a visit on a Sunday for Family Fun in the Education Centre, with art games, puzzles, and mask making for ages 5–12.
