Downsview Park – Jr. Forest Explorers

Join staff at Downsview Park for a free caregiver and toddler nature program. Connect with the natural world through hands-on outdoor activities. Registration is required.

Participants may sign up for one session or all the sessions. Sessions are geared to children aged 18 months to 3 years, with a caregiver.

July 9: Forest Explorers
Take a mini hike through Downsview Park’s forest and participate in a summer scavenger hunt.

July 16: Downsview Park Wildlife
Wondering what lives in Downsview Park? Play some games, make some noise, and learn about the wildlife that calls Downsview Park home.

July 23: Creepy Crawlers
Look closer at the insect world. Dig in the dirt, collect worms, and explore the tiny creatures all around us.

July 30: Trees and flowers  
Use your senses to explore the trees and flowers. Through art activities and forest exploring, participants learn about all the plants growing in Downsview Park.

August 13: Muddy Mayhem
Get ready to get muddy! This will involve using soil to have a mud activity. A change of clothing is highly recommended for this program.

August 20: Garden Adventures
Explore Downsview Park’s education garden and explore all the food growing there.
