  • 12 pm, 1 pm, and 3 pm: Enjoy FREE Pop-up Performances in a traditional Mongolian yurt installed in the Museum’s courtyard.
  • 12–4 pm: Drop in for family-friendly programming in the Museum’s Education Centre.
    • Create two pieces that take inspiration from a long tradition of Muslim cultures, gardens, and techniques. Be inspired by the geometry and floral motifs in the Museum’s architecture and Collection to make a mosaic, and create your own animal tessellations on paper.
    • Enjoy three, half-hour storytelling pop-ups.
  • 2 pm: Watch a screening of the documentary Kedi (Ceyda Torun, 2016, 79 mins, NR). Hundreds of thousands of Turkish cats freely roam Istanbul. They’ve done so for centuries. Claiming no owners, Istanbul’s cats live between two worlds, neither wild nor tame — bringing joy and purpose to the people they choose to adopt.
  • Guests have one last opportunity to view the exhibition, Arts of the East: Highlights of Islamic Art from the Bruschettini Collection, which closes on January 21.
