NBS Sharing Dance encourages all Canadians to embrace the joy of dance. Each year, a team of passionate Canadian choreographers, in partnership with Canada’s National Balle School, create a piece of choreography that embodies a thoughtful theme and invites the community to learn the choreography, show up for community rehearsals, then participate in a performance in cities across Canada.
This year’s choreography explores how our familial, cultural and community roots influence our identity. Sharing Dance Day performances in Toronto take place at the Harbourfront Centre at 10 am and 12:30 pm.
Each celebration will reflect the interests and flavour of the local community while featuring performances of the NBS Sharing Dance Day choreography. From Canada’s newest arrivals to its founding Indigenous peoples, NBS Sharing Dance Day will provide a platform for all to engage in a joyful and healthy way.
