Tell Me That Story Again: The Indigenous Tradition of Oral Storytelling

Event Details

This event finished on 25 April 2018

Sometimes listening to a story is just as important as telling the story. Join Indigenous educators Lindy Kinoshameg (Odawa from Wikwemikoong Unceded First Nation) and Leslie McCue (Mississauga from Curve Lake First Nation) for three sessions at Young People’s Theatre (YPT) exploring the Indigenous tradition of oral storytelling.

Lindy and Leslie will highlight the importance of both sharing oral stories as well as showing respect and giving space to the speaker. Participants will be challenged to be active listeners as well as imaginative creators, developing their confidence, leadership, and collaborative skills.

This workshop is recommended for students in Grades 5-8. There will be three sessions of two hours each.
