National Public Works Week Family Fun Day

Event Details

It takes a lot of effort from a lot of people to keep a city moving. From providing clean water to building roads and bridges or planning for mass transit, to removing snow on roadways or devising emergency management plans, public works services contribute to a city’s quality of life. Show your appreciation and learn about the inner workings of Mississauga’s infrastructure at Family Fun Day – a celebration of National Public Works Week (NPWW).

A variety of displays and demonstrations will be set up in Celebration Square, including road maintenance equipment (dump truck, loader, street sweeper), storm water education, traffic signals, surveys & inspections equipment, the sign making shop, animal services, enforcement, and many more. Don’t miss the Fire Extrication Team, who will be putting on a thrilling rescue demonstration. Visitors can have their photo taken dressed in city gear, splash through the family friendly fountain, or bounce in the jump castle. Hop on a MiWay bus for a ride on the Transit Way, munch on free popcorn, and enjoy the BBQ in support of “Engineers without Borders”.
