Be a Scot for a day at the 43rd annual Highland Games in Halton Hills. Highlights include Highland dancing, a bagpiping competition, military mass bagpipe bands, military displays, a Clan Parade, and “heavy athletics”—which is as it sounds: muscular men and women throwing, lifting, and tossing heavy objects like the Scottish hammer and the caber, a 20-foot-long log.
You can also expect children’s activities, artisans selling traditional Celtic items, and a selection of Scottish food vendors.
Admission is $12 for adults and free for kids ages 12 and under.
