Canadian Tulip Festival 2018

Event Details

“A World of Tulips” – Since 1953, Canada’s most colourful festival celebrates the tulip, Ottawa’s official flower, and an international symbol of friendship and peace, through art and culture. Paying tribute to veterans and the WWII liberation of the Netherlands by Canadian troops, the millions of tulips set the stage for a celebration of authentic art, cultural, historic, culinary and family tulip experiences at 4 official venues:

  • Commissioners Park – Dows Lake, The Garden Tulip Experience – Tour the 1 KM stretch of show-stopping, commemorative tulip beds and learn their history or stroll the tulip boardwalk or catch Victoria Weekend fireworks.
  • Lansdowne Park, The Art & Culture Tulip Experience – Enjoy Canadian tulip art, photography and floral galleries, installations and workshops, international cultural displays and performances, plus children’s activities, vintage automobile and military displays, and more.
  • ByWard Market, The Urban Tulip Experience – Tiptoe through a garden of urban tulip art, promotions, and activities created and curated by artist Monique Martin.
  • Garden Promenade, The Community Tulip Experience – Explore tulip gardens and special tulip-centric activities across the capital.
