Music classes for babies through children in Grade 3 are offered online by Jodie Friesen, Master Orff teacher and a graduate of the Royal Conservatory’s Music for Young Children program, where she also studied Kodaly and Dalcroze pedagogy.
Using traditional, global, classical, and original material in dynamic, small group, interactive, age-specific music and movement classes that draw from Orff, Kodaly, and Dalcroze pedagogies, these classes aim to cultivate each child’s discovery of their musicality for a lifetime of enrichment, while having fun.
These live, virtual classes incorporate as much interaction as possible. Virtual classes will be held once a week, for 35–40 minutes, and are limited to 12 children. They are grouped within their birth year (like they are in school), and they “graduate” to the next level each September. The material is structured around the participants.
