The Power Plant Contemporary Art Gallery hosts free arts workshops for children ages 7–12. Each begins with a tour of the current exhibition and concludes with an art activity. While photographing different urban sites in the Democratic Republic of Congo, Sammy Baloji often finds billboard advertisements depicting cityscapes from Dubai and other recent hot spots from the Global South to which the Congo aspires. After discussing Baloji’s interest in Congo’s imagined future, we will design and create our own billboard complete with glowing lights.
