Camp Kodiak

Camp Kodiak is an integrated camp serving children and teens with and without ADHD, LD, and high-functioning ASD (formerly diagnosed as high-functioning Asperger Syndrome). Campers range in age from 6 to 18. Camp Kodiak is located two hours north of Toronto, Ontario.

The Kodiak program includes a social skills program, an academic program, and many sports and activities. The camp builds confidence and self-esteem by structuring all activities—athletic, artistic, and social—to ensure success and by emphasizing cooperation rather that competition. With more than 50 sports, crafts, cultural, and educational activities, all campers can find several different activities at which they can excel. Staff members never miss the opportunity to recognize and celebrate these successes.

The Kodiak staff includes teachers, social workers, child and youth workers, and recreation specialists. Camper-to-staff ratio is 2-to-1 and the cabin groups are small. Staff includes a doctor and three nurses who administer all medication and are available 24 hours a day.

Facilities include modern, lakefront, log cabins with full bathrooms and showers, 170 hectares of land, and 4 km of waterfront. Extensive indoor and outdoor facilities mean that the fun never stops, rain or shine. Camp Kodiak is an accredited member of both the Ontario Camps Association and the Canadian Camping Association.

Camp Kodiak has been helping campers experience success since 1991. It was founded by David Stoch and continues to be a family-owned business. His three daughters are all teachers who have extensive experience working with students with special needs in the classroom and camp environments. They have been a part of Camp Kodiak since its inception and continue working to achieve their father’s vision for each camper who attends.
