About Camp Tournesol Day Camps

Since 2001, Camp Tournesol has provided French camps in Ontario for tens of thousands of children ages 4 to 14. Whether your child is francophone, in French Immersion, or has no French experience, there is a day camp or an overnight experience for them, with many fun activities included. Day camps take place at more than a dozen Toronto and GTA locations.

Campers in all programs enjoy weeks jam-packed with activities designed to support and enrich French learning in Ontario beyond the school walls.

Language modules include a wide variety of instructional strategies for learning in formal and informal settings. For example, arts and crafts is a time for campers to flex their artistic muscles while interacting in French in an authentic task. From cooperative learning to structured simulations, the creativity module engages campers’ imagination and social skills in creating a shared skit, song, or dramatic piece. Counsellors teach and model new vocabulary and sentence structures, adapted to each child’s French level. These are then applied in the course of our modules such as team-building, sports, and favourite camp games like cat and mouse, choir master and “What time is it, Mr. Wolf?”

In this supportive context, kids are encouraged to share, learn, and try new things. Activities and themes change week to week.
