COVID-19 Updates

The ROM is temporarily closed as of November 23, 2020.

The ROM has free online games and projects to do at home, based on museum exhibits. For example, you can learn to write your name in hieroglyphs and play a predator/prey game to understand the ecosystems of sea animals.

About Royal Ontario Museum (ROM)

Explore the ROM, Canada’s largest museum, with more than six million objects and specimens in 40 gallery and exhibition spaces. Exhibits span the artistic, cultural, and natural world. This is the place to find giant dinosaur skeletons, impressive animal specimen (like a giant white rhino), costumes and textiles from around the world and throughout history, a living coral reef, Egyptian mummies and tombs, and—always a kid favourite—the realistically re-created (and pitch-dark) bat cave, among many other regular collections.
Especially for kids, there’s the Discovery Gallery, where kids can try on medieval costumes, go inside a real tipi, and play at being paleontologists as they “dig” for bones and the Hands-On Biodiversity Gallery, with a fox den for kids to crawl through, an indoor forest, and animal specimens plus special kid-friendly activities. Every Sunday fall through spring is Family Fundays, with special activities surrounding a theme.

The ROM also has an ever-changing schedule of kids’ workshops, day camps, and registered programs including ROMKids Jr. (8-week sessions for ages 2–4 with guardian) and Saturday Club (8-week sessions on various themes, for ages 4–14).  You can even do sleepovers at the ROM. (These programs require registration and are priced individually.)

Regular museum admission is $20 for adults, $15.50 ages 15–19, $14 ages 4–14, $17 seniors, and free for ages 0–3.
