Spring Toad and Salamander Festival

Event Details

Visit the Americas Wetland outdoor exhibit at the Toronto Zoo on May 5 to celebrate the arrival of spring and the toad mating season. This annual wetland festival is scheduled around the explosive breeding ritual of American toads. Although the emergence and courtship of toads is the main event, there are lots of other fun activities for children and adults alike, including: air brush tattoos, frog-themed games like “Fish for a Prize,” Toady the Mascot, and information on how to become a Frog Watcher or Turtle Detective using the zoo’s improved online form and new app. It’s “toad-ally” fun for the whole family! Frog and toad wristbands are available to purchase for $2, with all proceeds supporting the Adopt-A-Pond Wetland Conservation Program, whose conservation projects target wetlands and species such as the Blanding’s turtle and Massasauga rattlesnake.

All activities free with regular Toronto Zoo admission.
