Digital Literacy Day in Toronto

Event Details

Technology – through phones, tablets, social media, and eLearning – has changed the way that we work, play, educate, and teach. This new digital literacy is also creating lifelong opportunities and challenges for people of all ages, backgrounds, and skill levels.

In light of these developments, the City of Toronto and the Toronto Public Library are coming together with a diverse group of more than 35 local companies and organizations to produce and host digital literacy themed events throughout the city. While most activities are directed at younger audiences, there are options for many other age groups as well. In all there are more than 110 free events offered across the city, including topics such as coding, digital privacy, digital banking, design, video editing robotics, and others. Career options will be explored in addition to discussions on how digital literacy impacts work environments and accessibility.

Find out more about what digital literacy means and what it can mean to you on May 31.
