1st Annual Kids Fishing Derby at Shade’s Mills

The Grand River Conservation Authority invites you to join them for the 1st Annual Kids Fishing Derby at Shade’s Mills. The event is open to kids up to 16 years old. Registration opens at 8:30 am. at the Boat House, and fishing runs from 9:00 am – 1:00 pm. There will be prizes for the biggest catch in two categories (Pike and Bass), in two divisions (9 years and under & 10-16 years). There will also be a casting competition, a free raffle, and hot dog roast. Amateurs welcome; there will be expert anglers on hand to provide lessons. A limited number of fishing poles will be available to borrow through the Tackleshare program. Sponsored by SAIL Outdoors Cambridge, who will be on site to offer fishing lessons as well!

Regular park entrance fees apply: $7 Adult; $3 Child; $5.50 Senior.
