Inspire your kids to follow their passions and stand up for others as Hot Docs screens two films spotlighting outspoken role-models and activists: anthropologist and primatologist Jane Goodall and activist Delores Huerta.

Live with Jane Goodall as she conducts her groundbreaking, enthralling work with chimpanzees, which she revealed to be so like humans, in the documentary Jane. The film, from Academy Award–nominated directory Brett Morgen, was created from 140 hours of footage captured by a National Geographic filmmaker 50 years ago that was never used and is set to a dreamy orchestral score by Philip Glass.

Delores tells the story of American feminist, labour leader, and civil rights icon Dolores Huerta, who co-founded the National Farmworkers Association, the first farm worker’s union in the United States. The movement’s famous slogan, Sí se puede, inspired Barack Obama’s “yes we can”—often wrongly attributed to César Chavez.

Tickets $13; Free for kids under 16. Showtimes are 1pm for Jane and 3:30 pm for Delores.
