They’re bringing light to these dark December days! Join the MNjcc for 8 days of Chanukah candle-lighting as a community. Each night, you’ll join together with various members of their extended family to celebrate the holiday together. Tune in each day at 5pm on MNjcc’s Facebook page.

Chanukah Night 1 • December 10, 2020
On the first night of Chanukah, join MNjcc Executive Director, Harriet Wichin as she lights the first candle followed by a guided meditation focusing on the idea of darkness to light, with Manager of Wellness Programs, Jooli Park.

Chanukah Night 2 • December 11, 2020
The MNjcc Israeli Connection team will light the second candle followed by Chanukah songs and dance instruction (Israeli style) with Anat Kriger from our new Israeli Children Learn & Play program.

Chanukah Night 3 • December 12, 2020
Join the Jewish& Coordinator Lauren (& her family) for candle lighting followed by a reading of Lemony Snicket’s ‘The Latke Who Couldn’t Stop Screaming’

Chanukah Night 4 • December 13, 2020
The fourth candle in the menorah will be lit by MNjcc Director of Arts & Culture, Esther Arbeid followed by learning a Chanukah Yiddish-Hebrew song about old and new stories. Kobi Hass will sing and tell the story of its origins.

Chanukah Night 5 • December 14, 2020
Join the MNjcc Suzuki Music families. Let’s light the Chanukah candles together and hear some holiday string music played by our wonderful students!

Chanukah Night 6 • December 15, 2020
The Access and Inclusion team will light candles together with the American Sign Language (ASL) instructor Art Gunther, who will sign in ASL. They will also share greetings and include a recording of some of our participants sharing their Chanukah art and wishing the community a Happy Chanukah.

Chanukah Night 7 • December 16, 2020
Longtime MNjcc community members Ralph and Kitty Wintrob will light the candles and invite you to experience what celebrating Chanukah is like in their home, through a wonderful anecdote.

Chanukah Night 8 • December 17, 2020
Join the LGBTQ at the J Programming Committee for a special rainbow candle lighting on the last night of Chanukah
