Enjoy the great outdoors as you walk along a marked path detailing the making of maple syrup and “tap into spring!” The festival includes demonstrations, wagon rides, kids’ activities, and of course pancakes and maple syrup. Special family-fun activities on weekends and during March Break.
The festival takes place at four conservation areas, each with its own schedule of activities: Bruce’s Mill (Stouffville), Island Lake (Orangeville), Kortright (Woodbridge), Terra Cotta (Halton Hills).
At Island Lake Conservation Area there will be wagon rides, a blacksmithing demonstration, face painting, giant games, kicksledding, maple scavenger hunt, kids’ zone, creature den display, axe-throwing, sugarbush tour, taffy tasting, hands-on art activities, all-day pancake breakfast and food trucks, and vendors and community booths.
Admission is $8.85 adults, $5.75 ages 5–14, and free for ages 4 and under.
Register in advance for Island Lake’s Maple Syrup by Lamplight event (grown-ups only) on April 20.
