Muhtadi International Drumming Festival

The Muhtadi International Drumming Festival is a two day annual event that celebrates the drum, its presence in all cultures, and its cultural relevance today in communities around the world.

You will have the chance to enjoy more than 30 local and internationally known master drummers and drum groups playing an eclectic array of drums from several nations. You can also try out drumming and drumming styles at workshops, sample ethnic foods, and purchase arts and crafts from around the globe.

At Let the Children Play (Sunday 10 am–noon), children of all ages can join in and play various percussion instruments. Cameroon-born musician, percussionist, Njacko Backo, will be the instructor. Kids and families can also experience a speed drumming challenge, drum circles, and more. Register in advance.
